Stock Photo - Illustration picture shows 'D'Iiste Geute', the start of the Geutelingen season, in Michelbeke, Brakel, Sunday 06 February 2022. The geuteling is a traditional regional product from the Flemish Ardennes. The appearance of a geuteling is somewhat comparable to that of a thick, plump pancake. However, the texture is airy and foamy. Sometimes a pinch of cinnamon is added to the geuteling for aroma. Furthermore, the geuteling consists of milk, flour, eggs, yeast and a pinch of salt. The Geutelingen batter is poured onto a bare clay tile using a ladle in a red-hot oven. A geuteling is not turned around. Due to the enormous heat and the specific thermal conductivity of the clay tile, the geuteling acquires its unique appearance, smell and taste in a very short time. ..BELGA PHOTO NICOLAS MAETERLINCK.
