With the support of the King and Minister of the Interior Verlinden, the citizens' initiative Be Heroes was looking for everyday heroes who make a big difference with small deeds and who, far from all the attention, giving the best of themselves to help others. Anyone could nominate their hero on beheroes.be. From all the submitted stories, 50 heroes were chosen to be present at the National Day ceremony on 21 July.
