Stock Photo - ***MAY 25, 1971, FILE PHOTO*** The members of the Unified Agricultural Cooperative in Osvetimany, Uherske Hradiste district, farm in difficult production conditions. Therefore, they decided to reduce their production range and focus on sheep, dairy cows and poultry meat production. The cooperative bought the basic flock of sheep in the GDR - Halle region - 303 heads of the Merino sheep breed, which at the same time solves the issue of mutton and wool production. At present, the Unified Agricultural Cooperative has 1 300 head. Annual yields in wool production average 5,10 kg per sheep - in some cases up to seven kg of wool per shearing per year. On the photo sheep graze on sloping and difficult to cultivate land. (CTK Photo/Frantisek Nesvadba)
