Thousands of weber-birds sometimes build very complex and branched nests as colonial burrows, which take up very large space on supports such as trees or telegraph poles and can grow up to 4 meters wide and 3 meters high. The different subspecies of the birds build different types and shapes of nests. Often the nests become so big and heavy that trees can break apart under the load.
