Stock Photo - ***OCTOBER 24, 1949, FILE PHOTO*** The eight large enterprises in Libuse, managed by the Agricultural Products Management Centre, and a total of about 100 smaller fattening farms incorporated into the Druna cooperative, together constitute a modern combine, which supplies the public supply, especially now at times of peak performance, with 5,000-5,500 fattened geese and ducks daily, in addition to several hundred poultry. It supplies the n.p. Pramen, the outlets of the Brotherhood cooperative, the factory kitchens and the national hotel establishments. The combine has its own network of buyers who buy geese, ducks and other poultry from growers in Bohemia and Moravia. All poultry is stored in large, newly built cold stores before dispatch. Special care is given to feathers in Libuse, which are in great demand abroad. On the photo: the plucked geese are taken to the cold stores. (CTK Photo/Venek Svorcik)
