Stock Photo - PRODUCTION - 05 May 2023, Saxony, Leipzig: Steel artist Dana Meyer uses a blowtorch to cut a small piece from a metal plate in her backyard, which is part of her studio, for a new installation featuring dachshunds. Along with smaller metal insects in glass, the unusual life-size steel sculptures are among the works the artist forges freehand and without plastic designs. She uses mostly found steel plates to create forged parts, which she assembles into the unusual figures like a puzzle using a cutting torch and welding equipment. She is represented with her works from 12.5.-20.08.23 at the Galerie Rothamel in Frankfurt/Main and from 6.6.-30.6.23 at the Galerie Marie de Holmsky in Paris.
