A very special herd of wild horses lives almost hidden on the edge of the Schorfheide. A foundation and a municipality take care of preserving the breeding, modeled after the extinct European wild horse - with as little human contact as possible. All shades from gray to beige, dark manes with light highlights and dark patterns on the legs, from striped to spotted: these are the Liebenthal wild horses. From Liebenthal (Oberhavel), the trail leads along lonely forest paths, sparse crossroads and bumpy field paths, as well as sporadically placed signs, to the extensive pastures on the edge of the Schorfheide.
