The Deutschmanns are not a normal family, but a so-called Kinderdorf family. The couple lives in their large house in Wolgast with their two biological sons, aged 10 and 16, their Labrador Happy, two cats and six protégés from the Albert Schweitzer Family Service in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
