Stock Photo - PRODUCTION - 18 November 2022, Saxony, Leipzig: At the Alte Messe, the 60-meter-high golden spire with the Red Star can be seen behind trees from a construction site for a new building on the site of the listed Soviet Pavilion from the already converted front section of the pavilion. A biotech innovation center, among other things, will move into the building, the shell of which is scheduled to begin construction around the preserved iron skeleton in 2023. The Soviet Pavilion, with its Red Star on a golden spire, is one of the most distinctive buildings on the old exhibition grounds. In GDR times, it was an exhibition hall for the Soviet Union and later stood empty for many years (to dpa ""Soviet pavilion and DIY store - conversion of the Alte Messe in Leipzig"").
