Stock Photo - PRODUCTION - 21 January 2023, Saxony, Roßwein: In the camellia house in Wolfstal, the Cardinals Cap camellia shows its bright red flowers. Currently, the greenhouse, which is looked after by members of the Heimatverein Roßwein e.V., is also home to the white blooms of the more than 200-year-old camellia ""Alba plena"". The 6.50-meter-high plant, also known as the Tea Rose of Winter with its double flowers up to 10 centimeters in size, is said to have been planted in the 18th century by Count von Einsiedel at Gersdorf near Roßwein. The botanical rarity is the second oldest north of the Alps in Europe after the famous Pillnitz camellia and can be seen every weekend until the end of March with about 40 other different camellia varieties.
