Stock Photo - PRODUCTION - 21 November 2023, Saxony, Oschatz: In a display case in the City and Scales Museum, there is a special exhibition of almost 80-year-old Christmas angels made of flameproof absorbent cotton, painted faces and papier-mché wings. Alongside Santas with felt bodies and non-flammable beards, pine cone gnomes and a absorbent cotton Santa Claus on ice skates, the historical figures are among the traditional figurative festive items that were produced in a manufactory for dummies and Christmas tree decorations in the small town in northern Saxony from 1888 to 1958. The various Christmas ornaments made of non-flammable absorbent cotton and natural materials not only adorned Christmas living rooms in Germany but also overseas. In addition to the Christmas decorations, historical lanterns can also be seen in the exhibition until the end of 2024. Photo: Waltraud Grubitzsch/dpa. - Oschatz/Saxony/Germany
