As of now, the lime tree belongs to the national heritage trees in Germany. Many hundred-year-old trees are included in this circle with the aim of protecting and caring for them so that they can live to be more than 1000 years old. The Collmer Linde is the 21st National Heritage Tree nationwide. The Collmer Linde, which is often described as being 1000 years old, is probably closer to 800 years old, according to the assessment of experts. The tree is a good place to look at how it has aged.
