From March to October, hikers or cyclists can cross the nearly 100 meters across the river. However, the season that is now coming to an end could be its last - the only pedestrian ferry between Anklam and Jarmen is threatened with closure due to a lack of financial support from the district. The community has therefore launched a campaign to save the ferry. Now, 2,000 signatures will be collected until the district council meeting in mid-November in order to submit a corresponding motion to preserve the small ferry.
