Stock Photo - PRODUCTION - 28 November 2023, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schwerin: The original purchase receipt for the GDR-produced ""Stern-Recorder"" radio-cassette recorder from 1975, which cost 860 GDR marks, can be found in a small workshop for old radios, record players and hi-fi systems. Small electrical appliances from East and West have been restored to working order here for around 34 years. It is mainly regular customers with a soft spot for GDR radio technology who hand in their equipment to the trained radio and television technician. A lack of spare parts and declining interest among younger customers mean that the days of this unique workshop are probably numbered.
