This prepares for the later harvesting of the peat. The company Rostocker Humus & Erden extracts peat from a total of 85 hectares and then takes care of the renaturation of the areas. In good years, the company says it harvests about 50,000 to 60,000 cubic meters of peat. This year, the result will be only 10,000 cubic meters due to the abundant rain and high soil moisture.
