The Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park was created in 1999 by merging the South African Kalahari-Gemsbok National Park and the Gemsbok National Park in Botswana and is a cross-border nature reserve in the Kalahari Desert with an area of around 38,000 square kilometers.
