Stock Photo - Seven rheas, native to the pampas of South America, roam near Utecht in the north-eastern German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. German authorities counted about 120 of the flightless birds in the area, believed to be descended from rheas that escaped a private enclosure in the neighbouring state of Schleswig-Holstein beginning in the 1990s until it was shut down in 2008.
