Stock Photo - The exhibition Nikogda nezabudnem (We Will Never Forget), which today, on Saturday, May 8, 2021, opened in a Prague square where a statue of Soviet Marshal Ivan Konev had been until April 2020, presents life stories and important historical moments in the relations of Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union. Prague District 6 Mayor Ondrej Kolar (TOP 09), not on photo, said at the opening that the exhibition showed how easily liberators may turn into occupiers, which people have to keep in mind even now. Posters present stories of particular people, documentary videos and speeches of eye witnesses concerning WW2 end, the Soviet influence in the 1950s, the 1968 occupation by Soviet troops and the 1989 fall of the Czechoslovak communist regime and the subsequent departure of the Soviet army from the country can be seen and heard inside an audiovisual column.
