Stock Photo - The first day out for the German orangutan Kevin, 26 September 2013 in the Dutch ape park Apenheul in Apeldoorn. Two weeks ago he arrived in Apenheul and was since that moment in quarentaine. The outside experiment went smoothly. The orang-island of the monkey park is surrounded by water and that Kevin only knows from his water bowl. The 31-year-old former circus monkey, has spent five years in the Berlin Zoo in solitary confinement, without climbing opportunities. Apenheul hopes that Kevin work out his muscles by climbing exercises, so he can explore the tree jungle in Apenheul next year without problems. Now he is still a bit stiff. With the arrival of Kevin, the zoo has a second adult and fertile male (besides Amos) and an additional opportunity to make the females pregnant. Kevin has no descendants, so he is genetically very important. Foto: VidiPhoto/NETHERLANDS OUT |. - Apeldoorn/Gelderland/Netherlands
