Stock Photo - 1962 - Greek Statues Found in Sea of Italy. Two magnificent bronze statues of Greek warriors found in the sea by a swimmer off the fishing village of Riaci (between the heel and toe of Italy) are on view to the public for the first time at the presidential palace in Rome. It has taken expert restorers in Florence over four years to carefully removed the encrustations of coral and seashells from the 6 feet tall statues which are believed to be one work of 5th century Greek sculptor Phidias. Except for a missing eye in one of the statues, they are both in super condition. Picture Shows: The Greek Statues on show in Rome. (Credit Image: © Keystone Pictures USA/ZUMAPRESS.com)
