Stock Photo - 1962 - Rescuers lose three was race against death; woman crashes 250 feet down cliff pace; A dramatic race against death was made at North Had, Sydney - Australia recently in an effort to save gravely injure Mrs. Ida May Reed who fell 250 feet over the cliff side The accident happened when Mr. Reed was trying to lower his wife over the side during a fishing expedition when the rope raised the alarm police launches and a pilot steam steamer rushed from South Head while police worked from the cliff top to rescue the seriously injured woman. During the rescue attempts Robert Reed collapsed to the ground in his anxiety. The women was rushed to hospitals where she died soon after.
