The latest addition to the ranks of Car drivers destined to make a name for herself is a very charming blonde who lives with her parents at Penrich, Cumberland. Fiona makes history for she is only 18 months old. Her thirty four year old father garage mechanic Mr. Harold Egglestone has built her a super kiddle car from an old ton peddal car and fitted it with a 40 c.c. engine (air cooled) two gears ignition and lights . It took him about 50 hours to produce but it is now valued at ?60. Top speed is 6 m.p.h Mr. Egglestone says 'Fiona loves driving and can steer o.k. but she finds stopping and starting and gear changing a little difficult so has assistance from Dad. Just in case Fiona runs into anything her father has fitted a gadget that stops the car dead on impact . Says proud Dad 'It is not enery kiddy who can drive before she can talk'.
