Stock Photo - An EMV-equipped American Express card recently received by a consumer. Card issuers American Express, Visa and MasterCard are beginning to roll out the more secure EMV chip technology in their credit cards. The new cards, used already in Europe, replace the magnetic stripe with an embedded chip using encrypted technology.
