Fourteen year old BRIAN GIBBONS yesterday received the George Medal - for his bravery in saving his four year old nephew TOMMY when an airliner crashed on their home and set it on fire - last and two week old brother KEVIN lost their lives, when the Viking crashed on to the home in Kelvin Gardens, Southall, Middlesex. He refused to jump from the window to safety - when flames were roaring around him - but turned back and searched for nephew Tommy - and pushed him out of the window to safety - and then jumped himself..He was terribly burned - and lay unconscious for two days - with his life in the balance.
