Stock Photo - Apr. 04, 1967 - Jayne Mansfield is Navy pin up: The crew of the Minesweeper H.M.D. MOnkton, on a six day visit to the Tyne, have a pin up at last. A Navy ship without a pin up girl is almost unheard of in the Royal Navy, and so when the crew heard that none other than actress Janyne Mansfeild was in the North East staying at Gateshead on Tyne, the skipper, Lt. Anthony Peregrine promptly put things right by the crew rang Jayne and invited her to the ship. So in between club engagement Jayne turned up at the quayside and was welcomed aboard by the crew. In the next few days, H.M.S. Monkton will be sweeping the seas with their pictures of Jayne hanging at bulkheads.
