Stock Photo - Astronaut Steven L. Smith, STS-110 mission specialist, works near the S0 (S-Zero) Truss on the International Space Station (ISS) during the first scheduled session of extravehicular activity (EVA). Rex J. Walheim (out of frame), mission specialist, worked in tandem with Smith during the space walk. Along with setting up tools outside, the bulk of their time was spent making initial power and data connections between the station and the truss. They also bolted the two forward struts that will permanently hold the truss into place. The image was taken with a digital still camera.
