The rocket, a Europa 1, is assembled inside a special test tower which has been built at the Hawker ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú Sidderley Dynamics Factory in Hayfield, Hert. It will be shaken about violently during a series of scientific test, and from its reactions, record on more than 200 instruments, engineers will be able to tell where such a rocket will stand up to the strain of a blast-off from Woomera Australia, in 1966. The test on it are part of a combined research programme run by Britain, France, Germany and Italy.
