It was accepted on behalf of the R.A.F. by Air vice marshal R.C. controller general of the ministry of public building and works. The hanger, built at a cost of $ 1,800,000, is part o a 075 million program of improvements being carried out by the ministry to develop the station as the main base for the long -range strategic force of R.A.F.
