Stock Photo - Aug. 15, 1957 - Chris Powell - the man in the daily sketch 'Win this Man' contest - reunites mother and children - The London 'Daily Sketch' has started a unique contest - the winner of which will be presented with the exclusive services of 49-year old Chris Powell, an ex-Major, who is willing to do anything or go anywhere to earn a living. He can drive a car, ride a horse, fence and handle a gun. He is prepared to carry out any legal task the winner may wish to request- such as baby sit, bath baby, act as escort, etc. etc. The first to win Chris Powell are Peta and Rosemary X - who wrote to the Sketch asking 'Bring our mummy back to us'. Their surname is being kept secret because Mr. X fears his employees would sack him if they knew he had marital troubles. Shortly after receiving their letter, ex-Major Powell was on his way to seek the missing mother - with the result that Mrs. X has gone back to her children and will go with them on holiday this week-end. Last week she left her husband and two daughters, Peta, aged 9 and Rosemary, aged 11, who live in Putney, London/.
