Stock Photo - BRIDGEWATER HOUSE, Westminster, London. Interior view. Before the First World War Bridgewater House contained the finest private picture gallery in England, admitting visitors on Wednesdays and Saturdays after previous application in writing. Lady Ellesmere's Boudoir (shown here) was not open to the public when the family were in residence. The circular painting is a Raphael Holy Family known as 'Madonna with the Palm Tree', and to its right Raphael's 'The Madonna del Passeggio', both now on display in the National Gallery of Scotland. To the left is a studio copy of Raphael's 'Madonna with the Blue Diadem' (the original is in the Louvre). Photographed by Newton and Co (1890-1914).
