Stock Photo - Brittany, France - Ancient Fig Tree in a convent garden at Roscoff, Finistere, dating back to 1610. The expanse of branches is supported by rowsof grante props. Its extremely numerous figs were sold in all the neighbouring markets. Tragically, the tree was cut down in 1987 during a modernisation spree - a horticultural tragedy in my book, especially as it was removed for the construction of a (non-defunct) car park.
