Symptoms include white mucal secretion and blood in the anus. A colonoscopy confirms the diagnosis. Treatment includes surgery where a segment of colon containing the tumor is removed and reattachment of the colon is necessary. This procedure only rarely requires a colostomy. Radiation therapy is occasionally used.
