The cast, silver, hinged ears are made up of rotating volutes. They are attached to cast, asymmetrical, open-worked cartouches made up of seed beads and flower sprays. The cast silver lock plate on the front of the body has the shape of an asymmetric cartouche, built up of C-volutes and rocailles that twist against each other. In the center of the front of the lid is a cast, silver asymmetrical flower branch attached, the protruding handle of which serves as a lid handle. Silver plates are mounted on the upper corners of the body, sawn out and engraved with floral scrolls. These connect to similar, mirroring plates on the bottom corners of the lid. The bottom of the case is made of oak. The case has an oak interior covered with red velvet in which 12 small and 24 large slots are intended for storing cutlery.
