Stock Photo - Czech President Milos Zeman awarded 29 selected personalities on the 95th anniversary of establishment of Independent Czechoslovakia today and said he does not comprehend history as a competition of abstract ideas, but as a competition of specific people´s ideas. He said the path of none of the awarded was steeply rising right from the start, but that they had often to cope with injuries, mistakes or slanders. Two of the 29 awarded got the Order of Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, the rest the Medal of Merit. Zeman did not award the highest state award, the Order of the White Lion.
