'Nobody guessed I was having him at home', said actress Vanessa Redgrave, at her Chiswick home after the birth of her first son, Carlo Gabriel Redgrave Sparanero. 'The papers said I was having him in secret, but I was just having him in private. Carlo's father is Italian actor Franco Nero, real name Sparanero, who is now in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, where he is working on a new film. These exclusive pictures, the first of the new baby, were taken by Vanessa's brother in law, photographer John Clark, who is married to Vanessa's actress sister Lynne Redgrave. John and Lynne went to Vanessa's home shortly after the birth - and these pictures were taken within half an hour after the baby's arrival at 1-15pm on Monday,September 15th. Many people believed that Vanessa was stating in Lincolnshire, but in fact she has been in her Chiswick home all the time, and Carlo Gabriel, who weighed 71b 12oz, and was 22 inches long at birth, was delivered by two local, National Health midwives. Vanessa has two daughters, Natasha, 6, and Joely Kim, 4, by her marriage to film director, Tony Richardson, which was dissolved two years ago.
