He was called Nicholas after the Christmas saint, by police after he was found in a women's lavatory at Crown Hill, Rayleigh. He spent his first Christmas in an Essex county council children's home near Chelmaford , where he received more fuss than most of the other children. Police have tried to establish his identity throughout the holiday, but without success. A spokesman said last night: 'We are up against a blank wall.
