This wall painting showing Dionysus enthroned, with a dog sitting beside the throne, was found in the House of Naviglio (or house of the Ship), which is considered one of the most ancient houses in Pompeii in terms of constructiontechniques of its ouside walls. Ponpeii was an Italian town buried by Vesusius when it erupted in A. D. 79.
