At the top a banderole with the inscription in mirror image: BYRSA AMSTERO DAMENSIS. At the bottom is a rectangular field decorated with scrollwork at the top with in the center Amsterdam, seen from the IJ and left and right two six-line poems in the Dutch and Latin languages. To the left of the Amsterdam coat of arms, the inscription: 'PLeijenaar excu.', To the bottom, in the middle, the inscription: 'Isack Houwens excudit.' The plate was given the shape of a salver at a later date and three holes were drilled at the top to allow it to be hung on the wall, Claes Jansz.
