Due to enter service shortly, when all interior fitting out has been completed, the HM-2 makes her bow after two years intensive research and development by an independent British company, Hovermarine Ltd., of Southampton. Designed to carry between 60 and 65 passengers, or five tons payllad, at speeds of up to 35 knots, the first HM-2 has been built for British Rail Hovercraft Ltd. and will operate in their ?¢‚Ǩ?ìSeaspeed?¢‚Ǩ¬ù service between Portamouth and Ryde, Isle of Wight.
