Studio: Two great stars of the entertainment word get together for the first time, veteran singer and dancer Gene Kelly and our own Tommy Steele, the todsle -haired kid from Bermondsey who twenged his way to the top with his guitar. And he will stay there because he is thoroughly professional in his approach tot he business. He never intended to stay in showbiz but, he said, 'a funny thing happened. I feel in love with the job'. And so he decided to make a go of it. Since then he has toured, starred in top cabaret and films, met the Royal Family and even did a straight play at that shrine of dress, the Old Vic. And now this lively cockney with his infections grin is packing in the audiences in New York with his shows Half A Sixpence. Photo shows Tommy Steele and Gene Kelly rehearsing for a colour TV show which will be seen on American C.B.S. TV in February 1966 and later that year British audiences will get a chance of seeing this partnership on British TV - in black and white only.
