Stock Photo - Feb. 26, 2012 - Largest Gold Smuggling Case Unrevealed - After the exchange of information of smuggling case from Canadian police through the International Criminal Police Organization (1CF0) last Nay, Tokyo police arrested three foreign businessmen on chagge of smuggling of gold valued at about ¥330 million.The foreigners placed under arrest were French trader David Ventura (48), Israeli Bernard Goorevich (67) and American .Rudolph Chevez (44-). They had concealed 260 gold bars in the bottom of 263 35-pound cans of motor grease, and put on board the British freighter Brecon Beacon of the Medmusley.Tokyo police's further questioning unrevealed that in the end of January they had tried to smuggle 300 more gold bars which were seized on the ship's arrival in Yokohama and had already smuggled another 300 gold bars.
