Stock Photo - Feb. 29, 2012 - The Culham Laboratory Open Days: Lighting strikes, tanker explosions, and space boosters are open to the public this month, at the Culham Laboratories Abington, Bucks. To illustrate all these varied aspects of their work, the Culham researchers are conducted and funded jointly by U.K.A.E.A., and Euratom and in colaboration with laboratories in Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Leigium and Denmark, making a total research effort comparable with that of the U.S.S.R. and of the U.S.A. The astrophysics research division of the Radio and Research station is located within the Culham Laboratories, and a programme of research in solar, stellar, and astrophysics can also be witnessed. To put all this in a nutshell, Culham exists i pitting its skill and wits in the battle against lightning strikes to aircraft, assisting in space boosters, and the finding out why some oil tankers suffer explosions.
