The President of the Italian Republic Giovanni Gronchi attends a reception in his honour with other authorities during his visit to South America; Gronchi is the third President of the Italian Republic, the first elected after the coming into effect of the Constitution of Italy; he is the first Italian President to visit South America, so for this occasion the Gronchi Rosa was issued, the rarest item of Italian stamp collecting.
