Stock Photo - Gunnison, Colorado - The drought affecting the American west has dramatically dropped water levels on Blue Mesa Reservoir in Curecanti National Recreation Area, as water is released to keep up the level of Lake Powell. The Elk Creek boat launch is in use, but the marina is closed. The reservoir's full pool level can be seen 40 feet above the current water level.
