Stock Photo - Italy, Chiusdino, 07/04/2015 The Abbey of San Galgano is the ruins of a former abbey about 35 km southwest of Siena on the territory of the municipality Chiusdino in Tuscany. The monastery was founded by Galgano Guidotti on the hill Montesiepiwas in the 12th century. The Rotonda the hermitage of Montesiepi was built shortly after the death of the saint St. Galgano over the old hut in which he lived the last years of his life. Inside the Hermitage, in the center of the rotunda, puts the famous sword of San Galgano for over 800 years in the rock.
