Stock Photo - Jan. 01, 1957 - Prime Minister attends the Pilgrims dinner at the Savoy Hotel: The Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Macmillan, attended the Pilgrims Dinner held at the Savoy Hotel this evening. Mr. Macmillan made a speech to bid farewell to Mr. Winthrop Aldrich, the retiring American Ambassador. When the Pilgrims originally arranged to hold this dinner, Sir Anthony Eden was to have been principal speaker. That Mr. Macmillan has agreed to take his place indicates his wish to restore the relations between America and this country to their former solidarity. The whole object of the existence of the Pilgrims is to strengthen the friendship between the two great countries. Photo shows (L. to R.) Sir Campbell Stuart, Mr. Winthrop Aldrich, the retiring American Ambassador and Lord Halifax, who presided. (Credit Image: © Keystone Press Agency/Keystone USA via ZUMAPRESS.com)
