One day earlier the flight-service between the Soviet capital and Frankfurt, the most important airport of the Federal Republic will open with an Iljuschin 62 of the Soviet airline Aeroflot.The taking up of the schedule-flights between Germany and the Sovietunion follows the German-Soviet aviation relations which started about 50 years ago. On November 11th 1921 the USSR and the Federal Rrepublic of Germany founded the German-Russian Air-Traffic Company Ltd. in short 'Deruluft'. The airports for the flights were Moscow and Konigsberg. The German Lufthansa which was founded in 1926 saw to an extension of the route Moscow-Konigsberg to Berlin. The flight service Berlin-Moscow lasted till the beginning of the German-Soviet war. On June 21st 1941 the last Aeroflot-plane landed in Berlin-Tempelhof. Photo shows On April 30th 1922 a 'Fokker F III' with the sign RR 1 landed as the first plane of 'Deruluft' on the Moscow-airport Chodynka. The second Fokker landed in Moscow on the next day. on February 5th 1972 a Boeing 727 'Europa Jet' will start for the first time in regular service from Frankfurt to Moscow.
