He was active in both yoga (Western-style) and nihonga (Japanese-style) painting circles, and studied in London as well as across the European continent. His works include the painted ceiling at J. P. Morgan's residence in Wembley, as well as thirty-seven panels for the medical students' dining-hall at the London Hospital.
