Johnson, who described the Treaty as 'the most important international agreement in the field of the disarmament since the nuclear age began'. The resolution on non-proliferation, which had been recommended by the Firest Committee (Political and Security), was adopted by a vote of 95 in fovour to 4 against (Albania, Cuba, the United Republic of Tanzania and Zambia0 with 21 abstentions.
