The former student and an unknown female person are said to have killed two Dutch customs officials at the German-Dutch frontier of Herzogenrath to Kerkrade. He is also said to have intended to kill two other officers to avoid being arrested. Heissler who may have belonged to the Rote-Armee-Fraktion since October 1976 is also charged with the participation at two armed robberies on banks in Dusseldorf and Nuremberg.
